Founded in 1989 along Jalan Lemon, Golden Happiness Restaurant began with a simple aim to sustain our humble beginnings by offering quality food at a fair price.
In 1995, we relocated to our current home, where we have continued to grow with the same passion and dedication. Inspired by the vibrant local community, we have always believed that great food should embody value, quality, and the spirit of togetherness.
Over the years, Golden Happiness has grown alongside Sibu. What started as a humble restaurant has blossomed into a trusted place for celebrations, reunions, and cherished gatherings. We strive each day to enhance every dining experience and sincerely welcome feedback from our guests as part of our ongoing growth.
Today, Golden Happiness is renowned for its authentic Foochow cuisine, crafted with care and a deep respect for tradition. From our signature Dragonboat platter to classic Foochow Fermented Red Wine Duck and other Chinese favourites, each plate tells a story of Sibu’s rich culinary heritage.

Sharing the Taste of Sibu's Foochow Cuisines Worldwide
The taste of Golden Happiness (金囍楼) is the taste we grew up with. It's the flavours and memories that deeply rooted in every Sibulan's heart.
In April 2023, our team visited a renowned Michelin one-star restaurant in Singapore, famous for its Fujian cuisine. Since its founding in 2001, it has flourished across the world in just over two decades.
In that moment, we felt deep admiration and were truly moved, realising that the flavours of a hometown can indeed resonate across the world.
Since our humble beginnings in 1989, we have always remained true to our passion for flavour and our commitment to quality. That persistence is not only the foundation of our work but also a continuation of our culture.
With that same dream, we hope to share the Foochow flavours of Sibu so that more people can know, understand, and fall in love with the taste of our hometown. This is not only our goal, but also our mission and our pride.

Caring for People
In March 2022, when the MCO had just ended, the entire F&B industry was going through a difficult time. Golden Happiness, was no exception, struggled with manpower shortages and operational hurdles.
During that tough period, many of our staffs chose to stay and stand by us. Those were indeed difficult days, but it was also then that we made a promise to ourselves that everyone who works hard for this company deserves to be treated with care and respect.
Our employees are our greatest asset. For this very reason, we want every member of our team to have not only stability and security in life, but also dignity, hope, and opportunities for growth.
